The Xerox SAP R/3 Device Types enable support for more printer options and features than the standard SAP® device types. Our Device Types for the Xerox Document Centre, WorkCentre, WorkCentre M, WorkCentre Pro, Phaser and DocuPrint N series printers enable seamless printing to Xerox printers in a SAP R/3 environment, providing easy access to the rich printing and finishing features of the Xerox printers.

- Supported Device Type print features:
- Simplex or Duplex Printing - Print single or double sided documents
- Finishing - Provide single stapling or Dual stapling or Single stapling at any of the four corners of the document. Please note to check the available stapling features on your printer.
- Tray Pull Location - Provide the ability to pull paper stock from up to six different trays. Print applications with various paper stocks (up to 110 lb index) for WorkCentre, WorkCentre M, WorkCentre Pro, DocuColor, Document Centre printers.
- Number of copies - Provide the ability to print multiple copies
- Paper Type and Color - Provide the ability to select different paper types and paper colors, such as Transparency, Red, etc.
- Secure Printing - Provide the ability to print secure jobs, but would require some custom configuration in the SAP system. Please contact Xerox technical support for technical help.
- Job Based Accounting(JBA) - Provide the ability for managing printer user accounts. Please check the availability of this feature on your device and you will need a separate application software to track accounting on the printers.
- Printer banner sheet - Provide the ability to enable/disable printer banner sheets.

Xerox SAP Unicode Printing Solutions, the Xerox International Unicode Printing.
Unicode is an industry standard designed to allow text and symbols from almost all of the writing systems of the world to be consistently represented and manipulated by computers. Unicode characters can be encoded using any of several schemes termed Unicode Transformation Formats (UTF).
Unicode removes the limitations of traditional character encodings, such as those defined by the ISO 8859 standard which find wide usage in various countries of the world, but remain largely incompatible with each other. Many traditional character encodings share a common problem in that they allow bilingual computer processing (usually using Roman characters and the local language), but not multilingual computer processing (computer processing of arbitrary languages mixed with each other).

Xerox MFDs/Printers Unicode Printing from an SAP application, for example, would offer easy and convenient printing of most standard and special characters for nearly all of the world's languages. Unicode will allow global, multinational enterprises to consolidate the number of printing devices containing individual local language support solutions, used both locally as well as in regional and corporate headquarters. The same device with the same generic set-up can print any document in a local language. Reducing the number of devices provides significant savings in development, consumables, and support costs, and greatly reduces system complexity.

Xerox Intelligent Barcode Printing Solutions
Description
The Xerox Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution enables Xerox printers for printing all SAP system standard barcodes in PostScript(for most of the printers) and PCL(on select models only). For details on PostScript and PCL barcode solutions please read the following paragraphs.
Xerox PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution
The Xerox PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution enables Xerox PostScript printers for automated and error free barcode printing from SAP R/3, SAP R/3 Enterprise, SAP ERP Central Components, MS Word or from any other ERP applications that supports PostScript printing.
- Xerox SAP R/3 PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution. A SAP R/3 server based solution. Supports SAP R/3 4.1, 4.5x, 4.6x and within Latin-1(ISO 8859-1) only. Purchase a Xerox SAP R/3 PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution license and receive Device Types that support SAP barcode printing.
- Xerox Barcode Pro PS, an application independent printer HDD/DIMM based solution. This solution would work in all SAP system versions and configurations, and also from Microsoft Word or from any other word processing application. The Xerox standard SAP device types that are available at www.xeroxofficesapsolutions.com would support barcode printing automatically if your printer or multifunctional product is enabled for barcode printing with Xerox Barcode Pro PS.
The above solutions (1) and (2) supports the following functions:
- Automatically calculates check digit
- Automatically places start/stop and middle bar characters in the data string.
- Automatically compresses and encodes the data string.
- Rotates barcodes through 90 or 270 degrees.
SAP customers may choose either solution for their barcode printing needs, but the customers running SAP system version is SAP R/3 4.6d and above, SAP R/3 Enterprise, SAP ERP Central Components, etc., the Xerox Barcode Pro PS is the right solution for barcode printing needs.
For additional detail on the two solutions, please note the following:
Once installed, the Xerox PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solutions seamlessly integrate into the SAP R/3 system and allow the printing of barcodes on any appropriately configured PostScript printer in the SAP network.
Note: Using Xerox SAP R/3 PS Device Types DO NOT need to modify the Device Type configurations to use barcodes, unless the application requires different size, density, or rotation
1. Xerox SAP R/3 PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution
Works only in SAP® R/3® 4.1, 4.5x, 4.6x and within Latin-1(ISO 8859-1). Only the device types available in the Xerox SAP® R/3® PostScript Intelligent Barcode Printing Solution package should be used for barcode printing.

However, the WorkCentre 7675/7665/7655 will require you to download the barcode fonts available from this website in addition to importing the Xerox SAP device type to your SAP system.

Xerox SAP R/3 Device Type tool
Description and Product Highlights
The Xerox SAP R/3 Device Type tool allows Editing/customizing and testing of PCL and PostScript device types. This tool works within the customer SAP R/3 development system and enables SAP R/3 Administrators to customize the Xerox PCL and PostScript Device Types to access features of the Xerox and multifunctional products.
Note: Editing/Testing the Device Types requires restarting the spool work process through SM51/SM50 transaction hence use of this Xerox Device Type Tool is recommended only in Development systems.
